Welcome Back Helen!

Helen’s good counsel and warm presence was deeply missed in our office while she recovered from her accident.  She is eager to resume her stewardship.

Recent Stewardship

❖ Providing acquisition, permitting and contract support for Gather RI, a new women’s empowerment center to be located at 189 Broadway Street in Providence.

❖ Presented first circuit appeal to convince federal courts to take jurisdiction over class action suit to recover interconnection taxes paid to National Grid.

❖ Representing landowner claiming that proposed condemnation did not follow prescribed procedure, was not for a public use, and did not provide just compensation.

❖ Helping former railroad recover value of land improperly taken.

❖ Negotiating lease agreement for 50 acres of property proposed to be used to site an energy storage system.

❖ Resolving mechanics lien and renegotiating lease for solar system.

❖ Helping Hope & Main acquire second facility for a kitchen incubator.

❖ Assisting college with utility dispute regarding the proper valuation of electricity generated from its solar system.

❖ Pushing for transparency and accurate assessment and compensation of net metering systems in PUC docket 23-05-EL on billing charges for over production.

Helen returned to the Providence City Council where she represents Ward 2 and is Chair of the Finance Committee.
